Your guide to learn about the wonderful world of chess!
Joke of the Week
"The ability to play chess is the sign of a gentleman. The ability to play chess well is the sign of a wasted life” - Paul Morphy
💡Puzzle #13
White has mate in one, but there are many potential good moves can you find the right one?
Deal or No Deal
✅Solution
The solution is the move Qf4. It is the only move that leads to direct checkmate. Qf5+ looks appealing but leads to complications after Kh4. Same thing happens with Qc5+. and the idea Rg3+ doesn’t work due to Kh6.
♟️Tip of the Week
Sometimes there are multiple appealing moves, so be sure to look through all to find the best move.

Game 1: Ding Liren took an early lead securing a win against Gukesh.
Game 2: The players drew, with Ding still maintaining a lead.
Game 3: Gukesh rallied for a win, leveling the playing field.
Games 4 to 6: All three games concluded in draws, with Ding giving up winning advantages.
Current Results: The players are tied with scores of 3-3 leading to a must win second half of the tournament. We are all excited to see what happens.
